This August, we are excited to welcome one of BOLD’s cofounders, Lauren Gardner, who will be hosting a cyanotype workshop!
What’s cyanotype? Cyanotype is a camera-less technique that involves laying an object on paper coated with a solution of iron salts before exposing it to UV light and washing with water to create stunning white and Prussian blue images.

What is BOLD?
Building Outstanding Leaders in Design by people of color for people of color matters. A mentorship program that addresses these nuances and shared experiences of the BIPOC design community. By creating strong leaders of color within the architecture and design industry will change the trajectory of the profession.
Vision
To provide mentorship for designers of color by designers of color so that they may excel in leadership and create a strong community as they grow in their careers. IIDA Northland, in partnership with MSP NOMA, is pleased to announce the B.O.L.D. (Building Outstanding Leaders in Design) mentorship program.
Mission Statement
Diversity in all aspects is good. By creating strong leaders of color within the architecture and design industry we will change the trajectory of the architecture and design and create local changes that will ultimately lead to global impacts and spaces that are built for everyone and inclusive and safe for all.
We invite our members and design partners currently working in any field of Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering, Real Estate or Construction to apply for this uniquely designed mentorship program.
Program Information
Professional mentorship program for Interior Designers, Architects, Engineers or other professionals in the commercial and design industry. Applicants must be IIDA or NOMA members
> 1 Year Commitment
> Mentorship Pairs based on goals not age or design experience
> Meetings consist of
• Speakers/Presentation
• Group Meetings with 1:1 Mentorship Breakouts
• Round Table Discussions
• Interactive Group Activities/Outdoor Picnics.
