This workshop will help you formulate answers to those questions and more.  IIDA Northland is partnering with ASID MN for an event focused on learning how to effectively communicate what you love about your job, why you do what you do, and how to politely dismiss incorrect assumptions about our profession.

Lisa Wocken, PhD is the owner and cofounder of Bolster Leadership. She has over fifteen years of designing and facilitating deeply engaging and effective leadership development solutions.

 

Lisa co-founded Bolster Leadership in 2020, which combines tactile card-based experiences with curated leadership development. She deeply believes in the confluence of art, science, and leadership development to help teams and organizations transform.

 

As an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Minnesota Lisa teaches Facilitation Skills, Decision-Making and Strategic Planning, and Positive Conversation courses for the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development.  Her research centers on Appreciative Inquiry, Effective Conversations in the Workplace, and Organizational Leadership.  Lisa completed her Masters in Leadership Development, has a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching, and continues to bridge academic insights with practical application.

 

Prior to Bolster Leadership, she worked for Cargill designing their digital executive education and manager development programs tied to their internal transformation efforts. Prior to Cargill, she worked for over 10 years at Target Corporation, in executive development, leadership development, learning and development, and business analysis roles.  Lisa lives with her husband and daughter in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Her personal interests include traveling, start-ups, coffee, positive psychology, French, and quality conversations.

Rebecca Bergner is a self-identified ‘leadership nerd.’ Her ability to lead and inspire others is felt by the participants and groups with which she has a chance to work. As a certified LeaderShape Facilitator, Rebecca has been involved with a variety of leadership camps for the last 20 years and loves every minute of it!

 

Her personal vision is that every student around the world has the opportunity to experience a leadership development program. She gets a chance to realize this while serving as an advisor for the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity at the University of Minnesota as well as being an Adjunct Instructor teaching courses in personal and community leadership through the Leadership Minor at the University of Minnesota.

 

Rebecca brings real-world and practical experiences to her leadership trainings while continuing to work for Target Corporation as a Benefits Leader. Being on the Benefits and Well-Being team, allows her to develop well-being strategies and tactics that help people be their best self. Prior to this role, she’s designed and delivered a variety of leadership trainings for teams and individuals across Target Corporation while working in a variety of Organizational Effectiveness roles. Rebecca’s first job out of college was with Deloitte Consulting as a Strategy & Operations consultant and she has a Master’s degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
