Designers of Tomorrow

Real life stories. Goals. Pitfalls. Networking.
These are just some of the discussion points covered in IIDA Northland's Designers of Tomorrow event held in conjunction with Minnecon on July 21, 2011. In order to better prepare students to constructively engage in professional work, IIDA offered an array of opportunities designed to generate meaningful dialog and critical thinking around the practice of Interior Design. Lead by young designers with 27 students from 5 colleges in attendance. DOT day covered influences and opportunities as a young professional. Moments for intimate and casual conversations included discussions led by the Chapter president and chapter members, those involved in mentorship programs, firm tours as well as timely presentations by young designers and firm principals.

The program was the inaugural launch for IIDA Northland and was overwhelmingly well received by the participants, all who said the day was time very well spent.
