It has been quite a year for Student Affairs.  Betsy Vohs and I had some wonderful things we wanted to accomplish this past year in regards to our students and we can humbly say we achieved those. However, we would not have achieved them without your ongoing and help and support. 

A year in recap:

• We successfully launched a Pilot Mentor Program which we matched 24 students with 23 mentors and received very positive feedback.  We are happy to report this program will launch again this fall for a full year term.  Keep watching the website for details.
• Gave away a Haworth sponsored Student Award of $3000.  This was given away at the FAB awards.  The Spring Newsletter had a full report on this award.
• Alumni Database on our IIDA Northland website.  If you have not added your name to our list please send us an email today.  This is a great networking and relationship building opportunity. (please add link to alumni portion of website)
• Revamped the Student Section of the IIDA Northland website to be utilized by future or current college students to be an information portal.  This update featured:  Student Centered IIDA Northland Programs, NEW Alumni Database, and updated listing of Interior Design Colleges and Universities within our region.

As I transition into my new role as Student Affairs Chair I would like to thank Betsy Vohs for her tremendous time and commitment to our students to produce these programs this past year. 

I, with great pleasure, would like to introduce the Student Affairs-Elect Ann Martin.  We are both very excited to be working together over this next year.  September is quickly approaching so we are in full-speed-ahead mode in regards to our Student Centered Programs. 

Again, IIDA Northland cannot thank our members enough because without your ongoing support we couldn’t do these wonderful things for our Students.  And a special message for Student Members; we need your involvement and thriving for knowledge in IIDA Northland and the Interior Design Industry because YOU are the future!
