click photos to see larger images Mystic Lake Casino Hotel collaborated with the Design Team for a major renovation and remodeling of Mystic Lake Casino that included the main gaming floor as well as new High Limit Blackjack and Slots Rooms and a High Limit Lounge. The goal was to create a hip new gaming environment to re-energize current clientele and attract a new generation of players. The interior design concept evolved from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux’s history, culture and relationship with the land within the Minnesota River Valley. The Casino’s “Wow Factor” is a flowing, lava-like “Golden River” ceiling feature that organizes the gaming floor and offers a luminous, curving stream enticing guests to follow, explore and enjoy Mystic’s many entertainment venues. Horizontal, dry stacked granite, onyx and other natural materials were incorporated into the new floors, columns, piers, walls and stone portals and symbolize outcroppings where the flowing “Golden River” has washed away the shoreline.
