click photos to see larger images The St. Mary’s Hospital’s “Century Project” is a new twelve story hospital addition. The project is located in the heart of Colorado’s western slope in the City of Grand Junction. The new facility is a level 1 trauma center and hospital and is the tallest building west of Denver and east of Salt Lake City. The design team used an exciting, fresh approach in designing the 440,000 square foot facility by artistically applying layers of design, form and features to establish a brilliantly functioning and aesthetically pleasing facility for the comfort and care of the residents in the community and surrounding areas. The design team’s goal was to create soft and comfortable interior spaces which would lessen the harshness of typical medical institutions while complimenting the hospitals vision of pursuing excellence through improving the health of the community, providing compassionate care and showing a respect for life.
