As this global design firm expanded its design practice with the addition of a Minneapolis office, this newly formed group of designers had the exciting opportunity to create a space that would best support their own unique work styles.
The site is located on an active public skyway but has limited views to the outdoors. Access to natural light was a top priority to the designers. The organization of the space became the driver for the design. Public spaces were designed to connect to the skyway creating a retail-like presence for this design firm. The work spaces were organized around the natural light.
The transparency and open sightlines of the space not only connect staff to one another, but also connects the design firm to the city, by way of the pedestrians that travel through the skyway adjacent to the office. The glass-enclosed conference room pushes out into the pedestrian area, and passersby can see all the way through to the opposite end of the space, allowing them to see the energetic, dynamic work happening inside.
