Michael O’Neil, PhD, Senior Director of Workplace Research, leads the Knoll workplace research team and develops research projects with leading companies to assess how workspace design affects employee performance and business outcomes.
Prior to joining Knoll in 2007, Michael spent 16 years as a product researcher and client consultant with Herman Miller. He is the author of Ergonomic Design for Organizational Effectiveness (1988) and Measuring Workplace Performance (2007).
Michael serves as a director of the Productivity Advisory Panel of the Environmental Quality Systems Center at Syracuse University and is on the editorial review board of the Environment and Behavior Journal, Journal of Environmental Psychology and the International Journal of Applied Ergonomics.
He earned a B.A, a M.A. and a PhD. in architecture from University of Wisconsin and is a Board Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) as well as a Master Black Belt in Six Sigma.
