Meet The Host/MC:

Bringing back our amazing host from Fusion 2018, Matt Belanger relocated to Minneapolis from the East Coast. He is a Weekend Anchor and full-time reporter for KSTP-TV. His energetic on-air presence has earned him several Emmy awards. We loved having him as our 2018 host for his up-beat personality and ability to improvise to fill stage time when needed in order to keep the guests entertained. He worked well with the Fusion committee to meet in advance, learn the scripts, and fully understand what the event was trying to capture to help us create one of the most memorable Fusion events in history.

Meet The Judges:

Sean McPherson is an in-demand bassist, bandleader and songwriter from St. Paul, Minnesota. He currently plays bass with Heiruspecs and Dessa. Sean is an instructor at McNally Smith College of Music, teaching courses in Composition, Liberal Arts and Hip-Hop Studies. In addition to his performance and teaching career, McPherson is a co-owner of Trivia Mafia, the largest trivia company in Minnesota and a freelance food writer for City Pages. Sean has formulated a unique fashion style moving from Hip-Hop, teaching, writing, and DJ on the Current.  He understands the importance of creating an individual aesthetic to stand out.

TASHA BARON // Music + Fashion

Her personal style is defined as deconstructed and ‘woke’ making her always glamorous and visually striking.

CELINA KANE // Fashion

She immediately enrolled in advance couture millinery courses in New York which has led her to the launch of her own business, Hat Make. Celina defines her style as equal parts minimalist and surrealist, geometric and whimsical. Each of her hats and headpieces are made by hand using the finest materials and thorough attention to detail. Her love of art and fashionably headdresses make their way into all areas of her personal aesthetic allowing her to leave a memorable mark on the Minneapolis St. Paul fashion industry.

Meet The DJ

With more than 20 years of experience in the Twin Cities music scene, Jake’s reputation as a versatile DJ has become his calling card. He’s known around town as a host on Minnesota Public Radio’s 89.3 The Current and founder of locally lauded Transmission dance nights. When he’s not spinning tunes, you can find Jake supporting local music, traveling or enjoying a quiet night at his Minneapolis home with wife Mercedes, daughter Liv and dog Harry.

Meet The Performers

You are invited to check back later for more information on our 2019 performers!

Pistol Prudence is Minneapolis based cabaret performer and aerialist. She is a cast member of Black Hearts Burlesque and a founding member of The Peacock Showgirls. She brings an elusive grace to the stage individually and in collaborations throughout the Twin Cities performance community. As one half of fan favorite duo Kitson & Pistol, She has performed across the country, including the honor of appearing at the Burlesque Hall of Fame’s Tournament of Tease.

Kitson is trained in dance, the aerial arts and life.  She’s the darling dynamo of burlesque, who really just wants to do a little dance, make a little love and get down tonight.    Kitson has performed on stages across the country, including The Burlesque Hall of Fame tournament of Tease in Las Vegas. She’s half of fan favorite aerial duo ‘Kitson & Pistol’, a regular cast member of Black Hearts Burlesque in Minneapolis, and a member of Gina Louise’s Lady Slippers.  When she’s not melting your hearts, Kitson enjoys boxed wine and long walks on the beach with her cats.
