Membership Types
Professional Interior Designer
If you are an interior designer and have passed the NCIDQ exam, you qualify as an IIDA Professional Member.
Professional Architect
By becoming a member of the IIDA Northland Chapter, you’ll have access to resources that will help to develop your professional career, connect with the Northland community, and support the goal of elevating the profession of interior design to that of licensure.
Associate Member
If you are an interior designer with a minimum of two years formal interior design education, and are not NCIDQ-certified, you qualify as an IIDA Associate Member.
Educator Member
Educators enhance the careers of future generations of designers.
If you are a full-time instructor, department chair, or adjunct professor in a post-secondary program of interior design at any university or accredited school of interior design, we invite you to join IIDA as a Professional or Associate member at reduced membership rates.
Student Member
IIDA Student Membership provides students enrolled in an interior design program the resources they need for educational and professional development, that are not available on campus.
Industry Individual
Description: Industry Individual membership is for professionals who are not practicing interior designers but make exemplary interior design possible – lighting designers, photographers, workplace consultants, dealers/distributors, and manufacturers of interior design products.
Industry Member
If you work for a manufacturer or dealer/distributor of interior design products, IIDA Industry Membership is right for you!

Membership vs. Sponsorship
Not sure what the difference is?
Membership in IIDA is at an individual level, managed by IIDA Headquarters. Companies are also able to buy several Industry Memberships at a time for their employees across the country, but the Member benefits are always individual. Member-Only or Member Pricing refers to these Members. For more information on Membership, please click here.
Annual Chapter Sponsorship is at a company level and is a separate, local Chapter initiative aimed at providing financial support for our Chapter and giving your company visibility to our local Interior Design community. Chapter Sponsors receive recognition at each IIDA Northland event plus a whole lot more – such as recognition on our website, in our newsletter and on all mass communication pieces. Chapter Sponsorship truly offers the greatest amount of recognition and benefits for the dollars invested. We continually strive to ensure that we are delivering the best possible value to our Chapter Sponsors.
Both Membership and Annual Chapter Sponsorship run on a calendar year schedule.
